Hi admins,

I like to ask You if there is a easy way to find out what hardware is ment
by the /var/adm/messages file

In the messages file i found this error:
============================================================================

As far as i can see this message tells me:
it is a pci bus
it is a scsi device
it looks like c3t9d0 ????
after investigation it seems to be c0t9d0

question?
How do i interprate this message
What does scsi@3/sd@9,0 meens
what does (sd8): meens
Is there a way to find out quick what device is complaining

I looked on the internet for several hours, but could not find any
information about how to interprate solaris hardware special files.

OK, I solved the problem by performing a prtdiag and a "iostat -E -n" where
i found a 0GB disk (whith no errors, very stange), so I assumed that this
disk was performing the message. Also the data on this disk was not
available. So I found the problem, but it took to long (half a hour is to
long for me).

Can any one help me with this?
