Installation of FC jukebox

Hi all,

I am trying to get a tape library connected to an E6500 server (Sol 8)
using a free FDDI port on one of the I/O boards (there are four ports, two
in use before installing this connection). I have struggled a great deal
with this and am hoping someone can suggest something to get me un-stuck.

The library is an Overland Neo SCSI enclosure with two LTO drives. The
drives have SCSI connections to a fiber channel card which is then linked
to the 6500 server. I can console into the card and have verified that
the card and drives work properly.

The problem is in making the server "see" the robot and the drives. When
the unit is connected to the server, if I power it off and back on, I get
the following error on the server console (the server is named gorge):

Nov 6 15:52:46 gorge socal: [ID 403145 kern.info]
ID[SUNWssa.socal.link.6010] socal1: port 0: Fibre Channel Loop is ONLINE
Nov 6 15:52:47 gorge scsi: [ID 107833 kern.warning] WARNING:
/sbus@a,0/SUNW,socal@d,10000/sf@0,0 (sf2):
Nov 6 15:52:47 gorge target 0x0, AL-PA 0xef and hard address 0x0 don't
match
Nov 6 15:52:47 gorge scsi: [ID 243001 kern.info]
/sbus@a,0/SUNW,socal@d,10000/sf@0,0 (sf2):
Nov 6 15:52:47 gorge target 0x0 al_pa 0xef lun 0 offlined

The link lights on the Neo's fiber card indicate a link, and the card
itself reports a loop. Over the course of several reboots, I have tried a
probe-scsi-all from the eeprom prompt but have had no luck seeing the
devices before or after boot (boot -r). The above console message makes me
think there is a mismatch of some kind between the fiber card on the
jukebox and the server's fiber port but I can't decipher it further. I
have scoured the web for anything related to this but have found little to
refer to.

I am losing my mind with this one. Do any of you have any thoughts on how
I can correct this?
