Hi,
I had previously written to sunmanagers regarding the login
shell for sh. Root is running /sbin/sh and has a .profile
file.

It seems that I was wrong. When i do su - it does read the
/etc/profile, but it is giving me this message:

-sh: PATH=/usr/local/bin......: is not an identifier
-sh: MQSERVER=......: is not an identifier

This works for all the other users.ie other usernames do
not get this message.

Any idea why this is happening?

I am running solaris 8 on a sparc machine.

thanks
radhika
