I'm at my wits end on this! I've been trying to compile mrtg on a
server onsite and keep running into the same problem. The errors begin
with :

--with-png-lib=/usr/local/lib --with-png-inc=/usr/local/include \

checking gd.h usability... yes
checking gd.h presence... yes
checking for gd.h... yes
** The GD library is required for rateup to compile.
Get it from http://www.boutell.com, compile it and
use either --with-gd-lib=DIR and --with-gd-inc=DIR to specify
its location. You might also have to use --with-z-inc, --with-z-lib
and --with-png-inc, --with-png-lib for gd versions 1.6 and higher.
Check config.log for more information on the problem. If your system
has libgd installed, you probably mis the gd.h header file.
Consider following the instructions in doc/unix-guide.txt
I'm not new to compiling source, but this one has me stumped. I can't
get past the configure script and it's killing a deadline
gd-2.0.4---compiled/installed fine
libpng-1.2.5--compiled/installed fine
freetype-2.1.2--compiled/installed fine
mrtg-2.9.25----NIGHTMARE!!
I've search newsgroups, google, and who knows what else, but I can't seem
to get past this one. Any and all help appreciated. Will summerize!
