redirect /var/tmp output to /tmp

Dear Sun Managers,

I've a Solaris 8 machine. My /var/tmp is growing big
very fast and causing my /var is 100% full.

My question is:

(1) how to redirect my log output from /var/tmp
    to /tmp?

(2) how can I do a symbolic link to some other bigger
    file system and is it advisable to do that?
