Alternatives to Sun tape Libraries?

We're getting increasingly unhappy with Sun service on our L-1800
libraries where I work, so we are looking at replacement options.

Are tape libraries still the way to do automated backups, or are
folks migrating to disk backups with tape archiving or ??? Anyone
have a backup device they are really happy with?
