slow TCP performance on local interfaces

Hello,

I've been looking at a performance issue on a Sun Netra X1 running
Solaris 8, Apache and MySQL.

There is another machine on the same physical network segment running
the same basic configuration that does not have this issue.

As far as I can tell, these are the differences between the "good"
netra and the "evil" netra -

--
wget'ing a page from "good" - 1.39 MB/s
wget'ing a page from "evil" - 18.55 KB/s
"good" netra has 1 aliased IP address on hme0
"evil" netra has 10 aliased IP addresses on hme0
--
ICMP ( determined by using ping/traceroute ) seems to be OK for
both machines, from local or from eachother.
Here is where it gets interesting.
If I use wget locally for the IP's aliased on "evil" netra, here are my
results ( not all 10 IPs that are aliased are in use currently ):
127.0.0.1:80 - 18.55 KB/s
192.168.3.11:80 - 18.55 KB/s
192.168.3.220:80 - 18.55 KB/s
192.168.3.237:80 - 1.98 MB/s
192.168.3.243:80 - 73.24 KB/s
192.168.3.246:80 - 2.34 MB/s
192.168.3.234:80 - 2.21 MB/s
These are consistent between ten runs of wget.
Any ideas? I'm more than willing to post more info if anyone can help
to further diagnose.
Thanks,
Rob
