print server/queue

Hello fellow admins....

I have the following problem. My system is set up as follows:

Running Solaris 2.6 on a NIS+ network, and had 2 print queues configured on
an Ultra 30 to drive my 2 HPLJ5Si's. One day, neither of the printers could
be accessed, with the error that they can't be contacted. Upon some
checking, I found out that "lpsched" wasn't running. Nothing I can do will
allow me to remove and reinstall the print queue's, which I believe is a
laborious undertaking with NIS+ running. Admintool won't work if I
understand correctly. I tried to use Solstice, it says there are no queues,
but won't allow me to add any either.

Any suggestions on what I need to do? I believe it would be easy with NIS+
NOT running....but nothing I can do to change that. I also don't know if HP
JetDirect software works in a NIS+ environment, but even if it does, hasn't
HP discontinued support/downloading of their SOLdxxx.PKG files off of their
server?

This is priority and would appreciate any and all immediate help!! I will
summarize as soon as possible

Jeffrey G. Wimmer.
