Dear Sun Managers,
I've an E3500 connected to L1000 tape library.
I'm running Solaris 2.6 and using Veritas Netbackup
3.2
software. The L1000 comprises of 2 tape drive.
My backup time on the same set of data (data not much
difference) vary. Sometimes backup took as long as
9hrs and sometime is just took 4 hrs.
My questions are:
(1)What possible causes the differences in the backup
time ?
(2)Anyway (s/w or h/w) to tune the backup performance?
(3) Since I've 2 tape drive, can I span my backup into
two tapes? If yes, how can I achieve this?
Highly appreciate someone can shed a light on this?
