Hello fellow managers.

I have a new Sun E280R with Solaris 8 (02/02) installed.

Unfortunatly one of our DBA's came back to me with some problems during the
install. I found the following errors in the log file:

Sep 10 15:37:38 pts01ykf genunix: [ID 492708 kern.notice] sorry, variable
'shminfo_semmni' is not defined in the 'shmsys'
Sep 10 15:37:38 pts01ykf genunix: [ID 966847 kern.notice] module
Sep 10 15:37:38 pts01ykf genunix: [ID 100000 kern.notice]
Sep 10 15:37:38 pts01ykf genunix: [ID 492708 kern.notice] sorry, variable
'shminfo_semmns' is not defined in the 'shmsys'
Sep 10 15:37:38 pts01ykf genunix: [ID 966847 kern.notice] module
Sep 10 15:37:38 pts01ykf genunix: [ID 100000 kern.notice]
Sep 10 15:37:38 pts01ykf genunix: [ID 492708 kern.notice] sorry, variable
'shminfo_semmsl' is not defined in the 'shmsys'
Sep 10 15:37:38 pts01ykf genunix: [ID 966847 kern.notice] module
Sep 10 15:37:38 pts01ykf genunix: [ID 100000 kern.notice]

The entries in /etc/system

are as follows.

set shmsys:shminfo_shmmax=300000000
set shmsys:shminfo_shmseg=32
set shmsys:shminfo_shmmni=100
set shmsys:shminfo_shmmin=1
set shmsys:shminfo_semmni=100
set shmsys:shminfo_semmns=32500
set shmsys:shminfo_semmsl=500

Has anybody here ever had this problem and knows a solution? I never ran
across this problem before.

Thanks.
