Good Morning Managers,

I have a Ultra2 box and installed Solaris8 core installation and CheckPoint
Firewall1 NG FP2.
I set up hme0 as external interface and qfe0 as internal interface.
I found communication between internal subnets was OK, but I couldn!/t go
through the internet.

I checked switch port for hme0 interface and suspected Ethernet address
collision because I saw the collision light.
So I set PROM variable !0local-mac-address?=true!1 and reboot and there is
no more collision light.
But I couldn!/t ping to the router either.

I checked arp table with !0arp -a!1 and found default router!/s Ethernet
address didn!/t show up.
# arp -a
Net to Media Table
Device IP Address Mask Flags Phys Addr
------ -------------------- --------------- ----- ---------------
hme0 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 255.255.255.255 S

I tried !0arp -s xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx router Mac!1
So !0arp -a!1 showed router!/s Ethernet address but I couldn!/t ping to the
router either.
Of course, I disabled firewall applications when I tested it.

Thanks in advance and have a great day!!!
