I have a L60 tape Library and Veritas Netbackup, and i have a problem with the time and data transfer of backups maybe its a problem of tunning, The L60 can backup with a data transfer of 15Mb/s to 30 Mb/s but with Netbackup i backup a directory with size of 3.5Gb and it takes about 20 mins with 4.x Mb/s data transfer, its shows me netbackup, and with ufsdump its slow too.example:

# time ufsdump 0c /backupdir

DUMP: Writing 63 Kilobyte records

DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Tue 20 Aug 2002 01:32:07 PM CDT

DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch

DUMP: Dumping (Pass III) [directories]

i check the files in /kernel/drv/st.conf and usr/openv/volmgr/bin/driver/sg.conf and sg drivers but all appears to be right, i check the docs of hp "HP Ultrium" and "HP C7200" (L60 model) and "HP Ultrium 1-SCSI" <-- sg driver, do i need extra parameters in some file?.In the other side of netbackup i have 4 servers and when i execute the backup each one to a single tape (4 in parallel) i dont see the diference because the backup is one by one not all at the same time, i try with 1 server to 4 tapes, and multiplexed too but the data transfer is always the same. Maybe is a problem of configuration of netbackup. sorry for the big mail.

Any suggestions or ideas?

thanks in advance,

Manuel E.
