Just wanted to remind everyone of a few list posting policies:
1. DO NOT REPLY DIRECTLY BACK TO THE LIST!
When someone posts a question, reply directly back to *the original
poster*, and they will post a summary of answers and hopefully a
solution.
2. POST TO THE SUNMANANGERS LIST FROM THE SAME ADDRESS YOU'RE SUBSCRIBED
UNDER.
If the address your mail comes from does not match an address on the
subscriber list, the mail will get held for moderation, and deleted.
3. IF YOU GO ON VACATION, MAKE SURE YOUR VACATION MESSAGES DOES NOT SPAM
THE LIST FOR EVERY MESSAGE YOU GET FROM THE LIST.
If you're not going to be reading mail for a while, either make your
"vacation"-type program ignore mailing lists, or set yourself to "no
delivery" via the web interface for the list.
I've had to hand-moderate over 150 posts in the past three days due to
people not paying attention to the three simple rules above. It gets
*real* tiring. Eventually (once MailMan 2.1 comes out), I'll set up
rules so that most moderation-held posts just get dropped immediately
into the bit bucket - but thats no excuse for people not paying attention
to the list policies in the first place.
Thanks for this rant. Now back to your normal scheduled mailing list.
