Monitor Resolution

I need a little help setting monitor resolution, please.

Ultra 10, 333MHz, 128 MB, SunOS Release 5.8 Generic
On-Board PGX8 (VGA Connector) with a Compaq V510 (15") monitor attached
Desktop: CDE 1.4, X11 v6.4.1

This monitor is capable of at least 1024x768 resolution on other Linux
and Windows systems. By default at startup, it appears to run in
640x480. Can someone please tell me how to change this to gain a little

more real estate on the desktop?
