Hi,
I have a user sitting at a (not necessarily patched up-to-date )
Solaris 2.7 machine. Every once in a while, an error appears in
/var/dt/Xerrors:
Wed Aug 7 11:52:07 2002
error (pid 270): Server for display :0 terminated unexpectedly 0
sunffbDriverInit: Warning: cannot get video mode -
Continuing with current setting.
Default Font Path: /usr/openwin/lib/X11/
After that, a user starts experiencing a weird behavior - he can open
some X applications like xterm, but he can't open emacs, xemacs or
3rd pary graphical tools - the window never comes up. Log out/log in
solves the problem until the next time, but it's not an option for him
now.
What causes this behavior, and what's the best way to fix it?
