Banners on a 4MP

I have a HP 4MP hooked up to a Solaris 8 box. Whenever I tried
dissabling the banners using the "banner=never" option (through
lpadmin or vi of /etc/lp/interfaces/printername), the pages stop
coming out. I see the 'ONLINE' light flash a couple of times and
than nothing. Like box fails to send some kind of formfeed signal
when the banner is dissabled.

Any ideas?
