bash-3.00# cat /etc/hostname.ce2
group public up
bash-3.00# ifconfig -a

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
lo0: flags=2001000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,VIRTUAL> mtu 8232
index 1
        inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000
ce0: flags=1000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 2

        inet 0.0.0.0 netmask 0
        groupname public
        ether 0:14:4f:69:3:9a

bash-3.00# cat /etc/hosts
# Internet host table
#
127.0.0.1 localhost
10.20.81.161 pluto.hq.dingdom.com pluto loghost
bash-3.00#

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

bash-3.00# if_mpadm -d ce0
Offline failed as there is no other functional interface available in the
multipathing group for failing over the network access.
The ce0 address it's taking is a address which i earlier tried with probe
based, but it stays there. while the server boots it does not identify that
i'm doing a link based now but still complains of a probe based
multipathing. This dosn't go either after a rebbot.
