Hello,

Ive some problem to look for processing eating memory on a V440 Solaris 9
box.

Heres my analysis:

root@/root #prtmem

Total memory: 7848 Megabytes

Kernel Memory: 720 Megabytes

Application: 4647 Megabytes

Executable & libs: 56 Megabytes

File Cache: 573 Megabytes

Free, file cache: 1997 Megabytes

Free, free: 12 Megabytes

root@/root #MEM=0 ; for pid in $(memps | grep -v Size | awk '{ print $2 }' |
tr -d k) ; do MEM=$(($MEM+$pid)) ; done ; echo $MEM

494768

Adding all the processes memory size (second field of memps) give me 495 Mb.

Looking at ipcs a output I only find a big (650 Mb) shared memory zone used
by Oracle :

m 24001 0x8cf275a4 --rw-r----- oracle10 dba oracle10 dba
19 641736704 2361 19646 11:34:08 11:34:08 14:35:22

So 450 + 650 Mb = 1.3 Gb.

Prtem is outputting 4.7 Gb of application memory usage.

Where or how can I find which processe(s) are using this missing memory 4.7
 1.3 = 3.4 Gb ?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your answers/comments.
