When I try to use Hyper Terminal from my laptop to connect to several
different E420Rs, I get no output on Hyperterm.
I'm using a blue Cisco rolled cable with DB-9 on one end and RJ-45 on the
other. The E420Rs all have silver DB-25/RJ-45 adapters in their TTYA ports
and openboot shows ttya-mode is set to 9600,8,n,- and input-device and
output-device are both set to ttya. I CAN tip from one E420R to another.
I CAN connect from the laptop to the console port on various Cisco devices
(Routers, switches, etc) so it appears that the cable is good.
Do I have Hyper Terminal configured incorrectly? I set it to 9600-8-N-1 and
I've tried Hardware, None, Xon/Xoff to no avail.
Dell Inspiron D800
Windows XP SP2
I cant use anything other than HyperTerm because corporate security has
mandated a standard laptop image and we cant load any additional software.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
Jason
