hi all,
Does anyone have an explanation as to why the top utility and df -k
reports a different size of swap than what a swap -l and what the server
was actually configured with?
This system was jumpstarted with 16gb swap partition and swap -l
confirms that, but top and df -k show a much larger swap size ie;
Top
last pid: 1479; load averages: 0.07, 0.06, 0.05
08:48:41
58 processes: 57 sleeping, 1 on cpu
CPU states: 99.2% idle, 0.0% user, 0.8% kernel, 0.0% iowait, 0.0%
swap
Memory: 32G real, 31G free, 73M swap in use, 43G swap free
Df -k
swap 44856200 8 44856192 1% /tmp
swap 44856216 24 44856192 1% /var/run
swap 44856192 0 44856192 0% /dev/vx/dmp
swap 44856192 0 44856192 0% /dev/vx/rdmp
yet swap -l shows the true swap size of 16gb that it was jumpstarted
with.
swap -l
swapfile dev swaplo blocks free
/dev/vx/dsk/bootdg/swapvol 288,29000 16 32787056 32787056 (in 512k
bytes so its half this = 16gb)
Thanks for the help.
