Hi Sungurus,

I have an E4500 server with Solaris 8 installed.
Yesterday the system got rebooted automatically. There were no core
messages but while checking the /var/adm/messages file I found the
following lines"-

"TCP connect timeout rate! System (port 139) may be under a SYN flood
attack"

<hostname>grep 139 /etc/services
# netbios-ssn 139/tcp # NETBIOS Session Service
netbios-ssn 139/udp # NETBIOS Session Service
netbios-ssn 139/tcp # NETBIOS Session Service
netbios-ssn 139/udp # NETBIOS Session Service

The system is behind a firewall.

Can anyone help me understand the meaning of the above error and was it
the reason for the reboot.

Thanks in advance.
