Actually Sun supposedly does have patches available for Solaris 2.5.1,
2.6 and 7 for a fee. See
http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/features/techtips/solaris_dst_addendum.jsp
for their feature. I have no idea if their patch includes patches for
libc.so.1 for POSIX timezones, or if it is just the timezone data files.
Has anyone bought this patch yet for Solaris 7 or older and verify that
it works for POSIX timezones?
