Hello All,
We have a V490 server (Solaris 10) and i connected external DLT tape.
I have done devfsadm -Cv and the tape drive is detected and symbolic links
are created in /dev/rmt directory.
But when i try to copy some files or do a backup, it fails. The tape
connection & configuration looks Ok.
When i check the tape status following message is displayed.
8ksh# mt -f /dev/rmt/0n status
Unconfigured Drive: Vendor 'SL30 ' Product '55.............' tape drive:
sense key(0x0)= No Additional Sense residual= 0 retries= 0
file no= 0 block no= 0
I am sure if do boot -r it will work, but as in present situation i cannot
boot the server. Is there any other procedure to detect the tape.
Could you please help me to solve this problem.
