Removing superseded patches

Greetings,

Is there a clean way to remove patches that have been superseded? I
have some machines whose /var/sadm is becoming full due to saved patch
backout data. I tried "patchrm -f" but it does not remove the patch.
Here is a typical example:

    # uname -a
    SunOS gssut101 5.10 Generic_118833-24 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-2

    # du -s /var/sadm/pkg/SUNWglrt/save/*
    67306 /var/sadm/pkg/SUNWglrt/save/120812-12
    84426 /var/sadm/pkg/SUNWglrt/save/120812-13
    84385 /var/sadm/pkg/SUNWglrt/save/120812-14
    21 /var/sadm/pkg/SUNWglrt/save/pspool

    # patchrm -f 120812-12
    Validating patches...

Loading patches installed on the system...

    Done!

Checking patches that you specified for removal.

    Done!

    No patches to remove.

    # du -s /var/sadm/pkg/SUNWglrt/save/*
    67306 /var/sadm/pkg/SUNWglrt/save/120812-12
    84426 /var/sadm/pkg/SUNWglrt/save/120812-13
    84385 /var/sadm/pkg/SUNWglrt/save/120812-14
    21 /var/sadm/pkg/SUNWglrt/save/pspool

Thanks.
