Problems with upgrading from Solaris 8 to Solaris 10 6/06

Hi Gurus
Happy New Year.
Has anyone had any problems with upgrading directly from Solaris 8
to Solaris 10.
Can it be done, without installing Solaris 9 as an intermediate step?
I attempted this just before the Christmas holidays on a customers site,
but the upgrade failed, so we could only upgrade to Solaris 9 before
time ran out.
As I understood it, it was a simple task to upgrade without the need for
the Solaris 9 step.
Does anyone know if this is the case?
The filesystems /, /usr and /var were only 25% full, or less. /usr is
3.3GB total, of which there was 2.5GB free before the upgrade, which I
would estimate would have been sufficient. The server is a v880.

Thanks - Ian
