CDE and PAM

Anybody have any experience or info on getting CDE to authenticate
against LDAP and PAM. Which services have to be specified in /etc/
pam.conf

I tried:

dtlogin auth sufficient pam_ldap.so.1
dtlogin account sufficient pam_ldap.so.1
dtlogin session sufficient pam_ldap.so.1
dtlogin password sufficient pam_ldap.so.1

but just got a blank screen when trying to log in.
