Has anyone had any success using Xnest to pull a XDMCP session from a
Solaris 9 server?
I've tried from both Linux and Cygwin/X, and the result is the same.
linux$ Xnest -ac -pn -geometry 1280x1024 -query sol9srv -fp tcp/fontsrv:7100
:1
(fontsrv is a Solaris 10 server running the font server)
Errors on the console:
_XSERVTransmkdir: Owner of */tmp/*.X11-unix should be set to root
XFree86-Bigfont extension local-client optimization disabled due to lack of
shared memory support in the kernel
Errors in /var/dt/Xerrors on sol9srv:
/usr/openwin/bin/xset: bad font path element (#40), possible causes are:
Directory does not exist or has wrong permissions
Directory missing fonts.dir
Incorrect font server address or syntax

Nevertheless, I actually DO get the remote login screen. I select "CDE"
session, and log in successfully.
The screen goes black, I see the hourglass, and then am returned right back
to the login screen.
I'm sure it's something permissions or font related. HELP!
Thanks.
