After a nasty crash of an E250 running Solaris 9, with a Compaq MSA 1000
array attached, I can no longer access the metaset on the array. This
is everybody's home directories, so it's a bit of an issue.
metaset says
Set name = msa, Set number = 2
Host Owner
rusizi No (auto)
Drive Dbase
/dev/dsk/c3t500805F300171B51d1 No
Trying to take ownership says
> metaset -s msa -t -f
metaset: rusizi: msa: not owner of metadevice database
Exit 1

Looking through the archives, I can find only one similar problem, the
solution quoted being to purge the disk set, and recreate it.
Obviously, I'm just a tad nervous of doing this, and was wondering if
anyone had any safer suggestions, or if things had moved on.
Any help gratefully received.
Cheers,
Rob
