In HPUX dmesg supports a flag of "-" (as in dmesg -). This reports
_only_ entries in the message buffer that have been placed there
since the last invocation of this command.
I use this, with a wrapper script to mail me any new dmesg entries
from my HPUX machines. Very useful. I was looking at the man page
for the Solaris (10) version of dmesg, and it does not seem
to support this feature.
Now writing a script to replicate this, seems fairly trivial, but
before I do that, I thought I would probe the wisdom of this list.
Has anyone already done this, or something similar?
