This is possibly a better question for an oracle dba forum, but it's
mostly hardware related.
I have a 6 18GB disk multipack that I'm running oracle on. I'm using
disksuite for raid 0+1 and I'm getting decent performance with
striping two groups of 3 disks each and mirroring them. I'm wondering
if you think i'd get better or worse performance from reconfiguring
it as follows:
make 2 2 disk stripes and mirror them, and set up one mirror with the
other two disks. Then, put the oracle binaries, ctl files, and dbfs
on the striped disks, and put redo logs and archived redo logs on the
mirrored disks.
Or is there an even better way?
This is for an oltp database for a webapp with lots of little writes.
