I have several T2000 machines that were purchased on the assumption that
one could attach two external drive bays, with each bay attached to an HDA
card in the two PCI-X slots.
But the machines have only one external PCI-X slot available --
the other one is used by the internal drives.
Apparently, only newer models have both slots free.
I thought I'd try replacing the internal PCI-X card with an LSI 3442X,
cable the internal drives to it, and use its external connector for a drive bay.
But no joy -- the POST IO-Bridge tests fail with the following:
...
Test: IO-Bridge unit 1 PCI id test
PCI ID test data miscompare
EXP VID: 0000001000
OBS VID: 0000001000
EXP DID: 0000000050
OBS DID: 0000000054
Since the 3442X has vendor id 1000 and device id 54, I suspect the ALOM-CMT
has device-id 50 embedded somewhere.
Can it be told to change this?
Is there any hope of connecting external drives to 2 PCI-X HDAs on this box?
Thanks,
