Hi I have received some inputs like,

1. making sure about nis is bounded clearly by using ypwhich

2. Uisng pwconv , so that any mimatching between passwd and shadow files
( Actually we are using NIS , but I thought of not taking chance and
tried this also)

3. Making sure taht nswitch.conf is not altered and it should point to
nis fisrtst and files later ( even I edited the file as suggessted and
even overwritten with from the machine which is working fine)

4. Make sure that user id's are not reused.

I have tried all the options and still the issue is as it is ?

please suggest,will summarize.
