SUMMARY:

  - Use 'lsof'. http://www.sunfreeware.com
        Example: # lsof -i TCP:849,856

  - Use 'nmap'. http://nmap.org/

I've been using losf for years and never knew it worked on ports, always
thought it was just open files... Something about old dog new tricks...
