Advice on porting app to Solaris 10

I've got a small app that I'm presently deploying under FreeBSD. I'd like
to deploy it on Solaris 10 now.

The app consists of two processes, one to collect data, and one to process
data. Presently I run these 2 processes as 2 different users to prevent the
"consumer" side from being able to modify the collected data files. It just
needs to be able to read them.

I presently have 2 users that autologin on system boot, on separate virtual
consoles that have .profile files that start the 2 tasks. The consumer
task then starts X to display it's results.

Since I don't have virtual consoles under Solaris, I'm considering
alternative ways of accomplishing this same this.

I'm kind of thinking autologin in the consumer, and running the collector as
a separate window after doing an su to the appropriate user.

The key requirement is that all of this must auto start on system boot, as
this is basically embedded application.
