E4500 Console Lost during Boot

       I have an e4500 Running Solaris 9 with a graphic console.
When I power on the system the console goes to the OK prompt and when I boot the
 console flickers and goes dark.
 
Although I can't see the console I can login from ssh and do not see any error in /var/adm/messages.
 
I beleive it is not a Hardware problem with the card.
I have swapped it into working systems and the problem does not change.
 
I boot fine from a tty console.
 
Any ideas on how to get the Graphic console working would be appreciated.
