Hello Sunmanagers

I have a Solaris (sparc) box that is directly connected to A1000 storage
and is used as a file server. The OS is SunOs 5.8 and this box has 2 X
450Mhz CPUs and 2048MB of RAM. This server is part of setup of 2 server
cluster with each node an Enterprise 420R.

We are having issue with this server being busy most of the time even when
there is not much application related activity.

Below is output from prstat -

PID USERNAME SIZE RSS STATE PRI NICE TIME CPU PROCESS/NLWP
  5863 root 12M 6768K cpu2 20 0 409:51.34 48% recvap/1
 14270 root 7392K 6192K sleep 60 0 0:12.18 3.0% save/1
  8060 root 3368K 2320K sleep 58 0 3:49.14 0.2% nfs_mon/7
  7966 root 24M 23M sleep 33 0 4:01.16 0.2% netfmd/6
  1064 root 9504K 7040K sleep 58 0 0:00.48 0.1% caiUxOs/11
 22356 systems 1536K 1392K cpu1 48 0 0:00.00 0.1% prstat/1
  6335 root 30M 7768K sleep 21 0 0:00.00 0.1% java/9

The first line of output with process "recvap" is using around 50% of CPU
all the time. I guess this process is related to storage A1000 but could
not work out why it is there and why is it using 50% CPU.

Please help me understand this issue and if possible in resolving it.

Thanks and Regards
Pravesh Gupta
