SCSI disk problem

Hi ,

I am using a E250 server with Solaris 8 on it , today morning I rebooted the
server and it came up fine ....ther were no issue now its not able to read
the format.dat file and whenevr I try the command format on run level 3 it
gives an error unable to open /dev/tty..

kindly suggest ,, I cannot reboot the server again..
