I'm trying to get an Ultra-60 with a genuine Sun badged (Toshiba made) DVD
drive to boot from genuine Sun Solaris 9 (or 10) DVDs. The DVDs read fine
on other systems, AND this Ultra-60 boots from CDs in the same drive without
problems. Sun service shotgunned the DVD drive but that didn't change the
symptoms. The system has the latest Ultra-60 OBP patch (106455-11)
that I'm aware of.

with the Solaris 9 or 10 DVD in the drive says
Boot device: /pci@1f,4000/scsi@3/disk@6,0:f
Bad magic number in disk label
Can't open disk label package.
Has anyone else run across problems with Sun DVD boot media on an Ultra-60?
