logchecker vs logadm for solaris 9

/etc/cron.d/logchecker does not seem to be present in sol 9. I have
been unable to find out if it has been deprecated. It appears that
logadm is the new preferred method of managing log file rotations in
general. Does anyone have information on the 'official' status of
logchecker?

As background, the Titan security tool is still checking the status of
logchecker in solaris 9.
