Hi,
I'm trying to run a setup file which can only be run via a GUI
using, for example Xmanager from my laptop. All comes up ok, but when
running the application its saying :

Installation Error

Unspecified error in installation engine.
Couldn't determine hostname of local host.

Yet the /etc/hosts, /etc/resolv.conf, /etc/nsswitch.conf, seem fine.

I have also got this once when loading up the Xwindows Session:

The DT messaging system could not be started.
To correct the problem:

1. Choose [OK] to return to the login screen.
2. Select Failsafe Session from the login screen's option menu and
login.
3. Check to see that the hostname is correct in these locations:
/etc/src.sh
/etc/hosts
/usr/adm/inetd.sec

4. Check to see any magic cookie related error messages in these
locations:
/var/adm/messages
$HOME/.dt/erroelog

For additional information, see the DT User's Guide

Does any one have any ideas on this??

Regards,

Alistair.
