Ultra2 termination

I want to add an internal CDROM to my Ultra2, and see two 50-pin single ended
connectors on the motherboard. Right now there is a short cable running from one
50-pin connector to the other. I assume this is used to create one SCSI bus. If
I
purchase an internal 50-pin SCSI cable, do I need an active terminator on the
second 50-pin SCSI port? I cannot seem to find any docs on the internal wiring
of
the Ultra2. Are the internal SCSI controllers fast-wide or ultra SCSI? Are there
any distance limitations on the connection from the 50-pin port on the
motherboard
to my CDROM?
