Bypassing SCCS id keyword

Hi,

I am having SUN Solaris 5.8 operating system & I am using SCCS to have a
version control check on the scripts that are running.
I am facing a problem with default keywords using in SCCS scripts.

Details is as below -
DATE=`date +%Y%m%d%H%M` --- is part of the actual shell script.
After checking in SCCS via command :-
        sccs delta <script_name>

the variable DATE changes to
DATE=`date +m%d11/28/05M`

We crosschecked on the net & confirmed that this happens due to %Y% and
%H% being default keywords used by SCCS.
Is there a way to diable these keywords either at script level or in
SCCS.. since it will be difficult to change the DATE variable assignement
in the script.. as there are many scripts using same format "DATE=`date
+%Y%m%d%H%M`"

Any suugestions are welcome.
