cachefs

Hello all,
I'm looking into using cachefs to give increased reliability to a
webserver farm we currently have in production. We are using a NetApp F810
as a central file store and have a 6 Netra T1's running Solaris 8 and Apache
as the web servers. All the webservers are serving static pages with the
DocumentRoot pointing to the NFS mount (read-only).
We're worried about the possibility of either a backend network glitch or
the failure of the NFS server taking down our entire ability to page serve.
We would like to use CacheFS in disconnectable mode to ensure the ability to
serve content (although stale) when the NFS server is down. I've seen very
little in the archives about CacheFS and I'm wondering if it is some
infrequently used daemon that I shouldn't bother exploring.
We've had a bit of difficulty getting disconnectable method working and
are having a hard time finding good documentation on it. Can anyone
recommend a webpage or book that talks about CacheFS disconnectable mode?

Thanks much,
Terry Ewing
