Activity on Failed Disk?

Hello, all.

I recently needed to replace a failed drive on an old E250. All of the
drives in the system are mirrored via DiskSuite, so I detached the
sub-mirrors on that disk (c0t0d0s2) and deleted the state database replicas
in preparation for a trip to the co-lo facility to swap drives. However,
once I got on-site I noticed that the activity LED for the failed drive was
blinking green. Since there was an empty slot in the chassis, I just put
the new disk in this slot, partitioned it, created state database replicas
and then re-created and attached the sub-mirrors (and updated the
boot-device). This all proceeded smoothly. Is it normal to for the
activity LED to be blinking for a failed disk? Can I just go-ahead and pull
this drive from the chassis?

Thanks!
