LDAP and password aging

Hi,

We have been suffering from NIS's not being able to do
password aging for a while. Now that Sun bundled LDAP
directory server with Solaris 9, we are seriously
considering migrate to LDAP directory services. I'd
like some help before we decide that it is worthwhile
to make the move.

The questions are:

1) Does LDAP support password aging? I've got some
mixed answers.

2) We currently have Solaris 6 and 8 running the
production environment. We are not likely to move to
Solaris 9 any time soon. Is it feasible to migrate to
LDAP in the entire environment?

Thanks,
