probably over a million files to delete

Hi,

I ran into "argument list too long" when I issue
"ls" or even "rm" so I did one by one the commands
below :

nohup rm *2004*12* &
nohup rm *2004*11* &
... till *2004*01*

but it took forever to delete those files

Any suggestions?
