A3500 battery

Greetings, Sun Manglers,
We still have this A3500 beast in what is supposed to be an always-up
environment.
We got a battery warning today. I am curious a few things....

1) Sun warnings notwithstanding, is it physically possible to swap it while
the array is up?
I suspect the answer is no, as I recall being told that both controllers need
to be pulled out.

2) Does anyone know how long we have till the battery is at 0?

3) In a UPS-d environment, how much danger is there?
If we lose the UPS or the PDU, our server won't be reading or writing,
so there won't be much in cache.

The funny thing is, we rejected EMC because a "major firmware upgrade"
requires
the Storage to be Idle, and we said A3500 has only one tiny Single Point of
Failure.....

BTW, we do have a contingency plan that we have used, but it is a hassle and
an
exposure....but we can use VxVM to migrate our online server off the A3500.

Thanks
Seth
