HP JetDirect 300X external printer configuration

Greetings,

I am having problems with a HP JetDirect 300X (1 x parallel port)
external print server, that is, the print jobs after printing are
not cleared from the queue after printing.

This external print server was purchased only last week (manufactured
05/2005), firmware revision H.08.20, auto negotiation set to off (that
is, the port is locked in 100TX half duplex), and it was installed and
configured using the software supplied by HP (JetDirect Printer
Installer for UNIX, version E.10.34), for Solaris 9 (SPARC) box.

A HP LaserJet 4100 is connected to the 300X print server (which is a
supported printer by this print server), and set as the system's
default printer.

If I `cut filename | telnet a.b.c.d 9100` the printer prints the
file, however if I `lpr -P hplj4100ps_1 /etc/printers.conf` or I do
`lp -d hplj4100ps_1/.profile` only the first job will be printed
(repeatedly), the second job never prints, both jobs are stacked in
the queue, so I have to remove them forcefully by `lpc abort all`.

Does anybody successfully overcome this issue?
