Network Alternate Path on E3500

Hi all,

We have an E3500 with AP configured on the networking part. (mhme0 using
hme0 and hme1)

Having some problems on the main interface (collisions and output errors) i
tried fixing the speed and duplex mode on the interfaces... Not being really
sure i first tried on the non active hme interface (ndd -set /dev/hme etc..)

After setting to 0 the 10h 10f 100h and autoneg capabilities i found the
switch reported the interface as not connected (while it was connected
before). I tried resetting all capabilities to 1 but i still have the
interface as not connected....
My problem is the /dev/hme0 and /dev/hme1 interfaces are not directly
accessible via ifconfig...

What can i do to shutdown and bring back up the hme interface without
touching the mhme and subsequently putting it into 100F as to limit problems
on the interfaces? (is this possible at all?)

Thanks for any pointers to documents about this or any direct help.

Luca
