First I want to thank everyone for the help.
I still haven't had a chance to check this out yet.
For the mean time I just used SSH to access my system.
Telnet will work also. My system is setup to only send messages to the serial
console.
Telnet/SSH connection doesn't show the messages.
***My Original message
How the heck do you turn off those darn error messages that popup at the
console (local).
***
Everyone is saying check out syslog.conf
***msgs from folks
Edit the /etc/syslog.conf file (and then restart syslogd).
The man page should help, but trial and error are my best
process and generally I prefer that they be sent elsewhere
so that they're captured somewhere
check /etc/syslog.conf for 'console'
Change /etc/syslog.conf and then do a "kill -HUP" on the syslogd process
id...
***
Take care
Al
